Engineer Norman Karidza is currently the Acting Director of Works for the Harare City Council. The role involves overall management of the City infrastructure including road infrastructure design and maintenance, City Planning, City Traffic and Transportation Planning, City Architect and Property development, Land management development, Asset management of mechanical and electrical plant and equipment and waste management. His 18 years working experience cuts across several sectors that includes mining, real estate investments, manufacturing, energy and urban local authorities. He held senior positions in organisations such as RioZim Pvt ltd, CAFCA ltd, Dawn Properties, Old Mutual Zimbabwe, Delta Corporation and Zimbabwe Power Company. He has accumulated knowledge in Engineering design, maintenance, project management, corporate governance, leadership and mentoring, problem solving and strategic planning. Eng. Karidza is a holder of Masters in Business Administration (University of Zimbabwe), Bsc Honours degree in Mechanical engineering (University of Zimbabwe), Diploma in General Management and Diploma in Project Management. He is also currently studying towards attaining Msc. in Engineering Project management with Chinhoyi University of technology. He is a former board member of the Zimbabwe institution of Engineers (ZIE), past president of Rotary club of Hwange, ex-chairperson of ZPC football club, Norman is passionate about volunteering and bringing change in communities. He is an avid golfer, chess player and member of the rotarian family of Harare central.
