Farai Mwakutuya is an award-winning journalist with over 16 years experience in broadcast journalism, public relations, marketing and advertising in Zimbabwe and East Africa. Since 2011 he has been the correspondent for China Global Television (China’s National TV) covering Zimbabwe and Zambia. He is a current affairs producer/presenter on ZiFM Stereo, specializing in business, finance and parliamentary affairs. He has previously worked for East Africa’s largest media conglomerate, Nation Media Group, as a news anchor on NTV Uganda. Mwakutuya is an accomplished and sought-after Director of Ceremonies and Moderator and has worked on a number of high profile events including the recent Mining Investment Conference (Feb 2018), President Private Sector interface.
Tinashe is a CFA Charterholder and holder of a B. Com honours degree in Finance. He is the head of depository services at the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange. He is a Finance and Investment Professional with over 12 years’ experience in the Capital Markets having worked for TN Asset Management, MMC Capital and Chengetedzai Depository Company in various capacities prior to joining ZSE.
Simbarashe Mupfekeri is a real estate investment advisor with expertise on the Zimbabwean, Dubai and SA markets. He’s worker with various agencies and developers both in Zimbabwe and Dubai. He is also involved in real estate investment packages for private investors.
Gibson is a Chartered Surveyor with over 15-years of professional working experience. He holds a BSc. Rural & Urban Planning (UZ), MSc. Construction Management (NUST) and MSc. Real Estate (University of Reading, UK). He is an active and qualified member of the EACZ, REIZ and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). He started his professional career at CBRE before joining the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe as head of CRES. He later joined Old Mutual Zimbabwe as Head of Property Development. He headed Malawi Property Investment Company’s (MPICO) property development division for 3 years. He had a short stint at Fidelity Life Assurance as GM Properties.
Innovator, serial entrepreneur, and visionary. Ken’s prolific business journey began in Zimbabwe at the tender age of 18 with his first company. With a deep longing and desire to see economic emancipation through job creation and investment bought to the poor in Africa, Ken, a Harvard Alumni has since had over 100 companies and 30 partnerships in diverse industries and countries. Since 2006, Real Estate and property development have been his primary focus. He has done this with WestProp, a customer-centric, private developer of exceptional properties in Zimbabwe. With a firm belief in God, Family, and achieving the impossible, those values were put to the test 13 years ago when Ken survived a near-death experience whilst skiing. Ken now firmly believes that God’s gift to us is our life and what we do with it is our gift to Him. Achieving the Impossible – Sheer Determination – Absolute Resilience – Gut Perseverance – Never Give Up Attitude! This is Ken Sharpe.
Christabel obtained her LLB degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2014. Armed with a strong background in civil litigation, she joined the firm as part of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and Litigation Practice Group. Christabel gradually diversified into the practice of Real Estate and Property Development Law and is currently part of the Real Estate Practice Group, with a key focus on the Real Estate Litigation portfolio. Christabel has also spearheaded the development of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Pro Bono Department at Manokore Attorneys and continues to aim towards sustained professional growth.
Dr. Chigara has over 18 years of lecturing experience at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Zimbabwe. He is the current Chairperson of the Department of Property Studies and Urban Design at the National University of Science and Technology where he also lectures in property, construction, and project management. Dr. Chigara (core) authored 23 research papers published in international peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings on various aspects of property, construction, and project management. His research interests include inter alia, sustainability, safety, health, and well-being in the built environment, and resources management.
Siza Masuku is the recently appointed Senior Partner at Knight Frank Zimbabwe from January 2022. Siza is a seasoned real estate practitioner with over 20 years experience and has risen through the ranks at Knight Frank to be the Senior Partner.He is chartered surveyor and Fellow member of both the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) as well as the Real Estate Institute of Zimbabwe (REIZ) .He is a past president of REIZ as well as Councillor and deputy chairman of the Valuers Council of Zimbabwe . He is also a member of the Institute of Directors (IOD).
Humphrey Zinyuke is the Principal Estate Agent for the Borrowdale branch of the Rawson Properties Zimbabwe franchise. He is a member of the Estate Agents Council of Zimbabwe. He has over 5 years experience in the Estate Agency business, specializing in Property Sales and Operations Management. Humphrey has a unique blend of credentials from different disciplines, being a holder of a BSc and a Masters Degree from the University of Zimbabwe and Africa University respectively. He is currently pursuing Certified Franchise Executive status with the International Franchise Association (IFA), as well as a Law Degree with the University of London.
Upon her return to South Africa from the Middle East at the start of 2013, Geri gained valuable experience by conducting market research in sub-Saharan Africa as a hospitality analyst. She spent 8 years with Hilton between 2013 and 2021 as Director Development, focusing on the SADC region. Geri recently joined the Accor development team and is responsible for securing exciting new projects for the group in the region, under their diverse portfolio of brands. John is the MD for Dawn Property Consultancy. He is a member of RICS, a Fellow of The Real Estate Institute of Zimbabwe, where is Vice President. John has over 20 years’ experience in the real estate industry. John worked as Head of Property Services at First Mutual Properties, where he spearheaded growth of returns for various property owners. To his credit, John holds a BSc & MBA from the University of Zimbabwe, a post graduate diploma in Real Estate and an MSc in Facilities Management from University of Reading, UK.
Mrs. Kwangwama is currently engaged as a Lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe. In her career as a real estate specialist, she has been engaged by Renaissance Partners, Old Mutual Property, CB Richard Ellis and the City of Harare. Mrs. Kwangwama is registered as a Valuer and Estate Agent with the Valuers’ Council and the Estate Agents Council (EAC) respectively. She is also an Associate Member of REIZ and a Corporate Member of the Zimbabwe Institute of Regional and Urban Planners. She is currently the Vice Chairperson of the Urban Development Corporation and a Councillor with EAC.
Progress has over 13 years’ experience in the real estate sector. She holds a BSc degree in Rural and Urban Planning from the University of Zimbabwe, she has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the National University of Science and Technology and a diploma in real estate management from the Real Estate Institute of Zimbabwe. She is a registered Estate Agent and an active member of the Estate Agent’s Council. Progress has extensive experience in the real estate sector having previously worked with CBRE Ellis, Old Mutual Zimbabwe in management roles. She is currently employed as the Head of Property Management for Mashonaland Holdings Limited, a ZSE listed property concern. She has a wealth of professional and industry experience from her notable engagements in the real estate sector.
I am General Manager Transfer Secretaries, Custodial and Trustee Services at ZB Financial Holdings Limited. I have over 30 years experience in the Capital markets where I have handled a number of capital raising transaction as a transfer secretary and trustee. Am currently the Chairperson of the Association of transfer secretaries.
Mr. Edson Muvingi serves as Managing Director, Executive Director of Zimre Property Investments Limited. He also serves as Member of the Investment Committee, and Member of the Executive and Human Resources Committee of the Company. He has more than twenty years’ experience in real estate particularly project management, property management and property
valuations. Edson has worked for DDF, Bard Real Estate (Bard Unit Trusts), and Old Mutual Properties. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Rural and Urban Planning (University of Zimbabwe), Diploma in Real Estate (REIZ), Masters of Science Degree in Administration (University of Zimbabwe). Edson is a Registered Agent (Zimbabwe and Namibia).

Experience and Key Areas of Interest:
Engineer Norman Karidza is currently the Acting Director of Works for the Harare City Council. The role involves overall management of the City infrastructure including road infrastructure design and maintenance, City Planning, City Traffic and Transportation Planning, City Architect and Property development, Land management development, Asset management of mechanical and electrical plant and equipment and waste management. His 18 years working experience cuts across several sectors that includes mining, real estate investments, manufacturing, energy and urban local authorities. He held senior positions in organisations such as RioZim Pvt ltd, CAFCA ltd, Dawn Properties, Old Mutual Zimbabwe, Delta Corporation and Zimbabwe Power Company. He has accumulated knowledge in Engineering design, maintenance, project management, corporate governance, leadership and mentoring, problem solving and strategic planning. Eng. Karidza is a holder of Masters in Business Administration (University of Zimbabwe), Bsc Honours degree in Mechanical engineering (University of Zimbabwe), Diploma in General Management and Diploma in Project Management. He is also currently studying towards attaining Msc. in Engineering Project management with Chinhoyi University of technology. He is a former board member of the Zimbabwe institution of Engineers (ZIE), past president of Rotary club of Hwange, ex-chairperson of ZPC football club, Norman is passionate about volunteering and bringing change in communities. He is an avid golfer, chess player and member of the rotarian family of Harare central.
Architect Tsitsi Dzvukamanja is a practising Architect, the President of the Institute of Architects of Zimbabwe (IAZ) and the President of the Zimbabwe Construction Industry Association (ZCIA). She is a seasoned built environment professional with a Bachelor of Architecture Honours Degree from the University of Cape Town South Africa, and over 17 years of experience in innovative, commercial, residential and interior design. She is passionate about Green Architecture, a philosophy of Architecture that Advocates sustainable and renewable energy sources, the conservation of energy, the reuse and safety of building materials and the siting of a building with consideration of its impact on the environment. As a staunch advocate for increasing design quality in Zimbabwe’s housing market, she would like to see more developments embracing the Green Architecture Philosophy.
Welcome is the Managing Consultant of Intellego Investment Consultants (Pvt) Ltd, an investment advisory firm focused on providing investment solutions to institutional investors.
He boasts over 20 years’ experience in investment research, corporate advisory, risk analysis and fund management in Zimbabwe and the region. Welcome holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is an active volunteer with the CFA Institute. He is the founding President of the Investment Professionals Association of Zimbabwe, a grouping of CFA Charterholders in Zimbabwe. He is also an Associate Member with the Chartered Governance and Accountancy Institute in Zimbabwe.
Samantha heads Hilton’s Development across East Africa focusing on brand expansion across 12 countries in the region. Her hospitality career of 27 years spans three continents – USA, Europe and Africa – in various roles in development, operations, management, consulting and advisory. Previously, she was the Managing Director and co-founder of a consulting and management firm focused on the extended stay and serviced apartment market in Kenya. Prior to this, she worked in hospitality asset management in Boston, MA improving the performance of hotel assets under institutional ownership managed by the main hotel brands such as Starwood, Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt. She holds a Masters degree in Hospitality Management (MMH) specialised in hotel real estate finance from Cornell University, USA, a Bachelor of Science degree in International Hospitality Management from Hotel School Les Roches, Switzerland and a Diploma in Hotel Management and Administration from Kenya Utalii College.
Tatenda is a cofounder at Injecta Analytics, a location intelligence company. He is an experienced Spatial Data Analyst with a demonstrated history of working in the spatial data science industry. Skilled in Urban Planning, Real Estate and Spatial Data Analytics. Strong location analytics professional with a Bachelor’s Degree In Urban Planning and specialising in Building Economics. He holds various certificates in the fields of spatial data science and urban planning. In his career in the location intelligence industry, his focus is to provide actionable geospatial insights to improve decision-making for businesses, organizations and individuals.
Maruza has 17 years of construction and development experience across Kenya, Tanzania and Zimbabwe with listed South African property groups. Maruza returned to Africa in 2012 after studying and practicing modern construction management for 10 years in Australia. Maruza was a finalist in the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) Young Professional of the Year competition.
Simone, based at Radisson Hotel Group’s Africa Development office in Cape Town, South Africa, forms part of the team responsible for growing the company’s dynamic portfolio of hotels and brands in Africa and Indian Ocean. Her remit includes looking after Mauritius and 10 Anglophone countries some of which include Namibia, Botswana, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Ethiopia. Simone has been making waves across Africa as a female leader in the Tourism Industry’s Business Development sector. In September 2017, Simone was recognised and awarded in the Top Hoteliers category at the AKWAABA African Travel Market’s African Travel 100 Women Awards, as part of the Women in Tourism Programme.
Mr Manyowa is the Managing Director for First Mutual Properties Limited, a subsidiary of First Mutual Holdings Limited. He joined the company in June 2012 as a General Manager – Developments. Mr Manyowa later assumed the position of General Manager – Property Services. He holds a BSc Rural & Urban Planning Honours degree as well as Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), both from the University of Zimbabwe. Mr Manyowa started his working career in the public service as a Town Planner. He later worked for Kadoma City Council and Ruwa Local Board before joining National Real Estate. Prior to joining First Mutual Properties, Mr Manyowa was Head of Property Development with Old Mutual Property.
Tjeludo is a qualified Chartered Accountant with a passion for fashion. After 9 years at Ernst & Young, she left to join Edgars Stores Limited as Group Financial Accountant and Company Secretary in November 2012, a position she held up to June 2016. She was then promoted to head up the Jet Chain and subsequently moved to head the Edgars Chain in 2018. Tjeludo was promoted to the position of Group Chief Executive Officer (Group CEO) in July 2020 – overseeing the overall business functions of the Edgars Stores Limited Group. As the CEO, Tjeludo reports to the Board of Directors and provides leadership and strategic guidance for the Group’s business units; from the retail chains, Jet and Edgars, the manufacturing arm Carousel, to the credit and financial services arm which also carries the Microfinance unit Club Plus.
Batanai Matsika is the Founder of PiggyBankAdvisor and also Head of Research at Morgan & Co. He has more than 10 years’ experience in financial advisory, economic and equities research as well as mainstream investment banking in Sub-Saharan Africa (including South Africa). Batanai Matsika has worked for local and regional finance and investment banking houses including Imara Africa Securities, Sanlam, Banco Português de Investimento (BPI) and Akribos Capital. He has also consulted for Nova Capital Africa Analytics (USA), Hamilcar Capital (UK) and Mackie Research Capital Corporation (Canada). He is a thought leader and columnist for Business Times, Zimbabwean Independent and Financial Gazette. He appears on business and financial TV shows including CNBC Africa, Business Day TV, 3K TV (Your Wealth) and China Global Television Network (CGTN). He holds an Honours Degree in Business Studies (Finance & Banking) and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Treasury Management from the University of Zimbabwe. He is currently working on an MSc in Corporate Finance & Investment Management. Batanai Matsika is an Associate of the Institute of Bankers and Member of the Institute of Business Advisors in Southern Africa (IBASA).
Dilys is an Associate in the Real Estate Practice Group at Manokore Attorneys. She has extensive legal advisory experience in complex commercial transactions with a core focus on property development structures and the laws that affect property ownership. Dilys also has first-hand experience in advising and assisting pioneer clients (in the REIT Industry) to realize the optimal benefits of setting up REITs in Zimbabwe.
He is a seasoned property professional with experience across property development, asset management especially in listed real estate environment. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from University of the Witwatersrand, and attended the Real Estate Management Program at Harvard Business School. He has served as Chairman of Investment Committee on the Boards of two listed real estate companies in South Africa and consulted in Zimbabwe and Botswana.
It is important to me to make a positive contribution, whether through advice that supports good strategic decisions, through supporting and empowering others, or through brief interactions with others. I built my career around hotel valuations and expanded my skills to the broader built environment, with experience in Europe, UK and Africa. My memberships with SAICA, CIMA and RICS give me a deeper understanding of the finance and real estate sectors and the impact of our advice on clients’ strategic decisions and other stakeholders. I have been fortunate to develop a forum for women in hospitality investment that provides a platform for authentic conversations with a group of women that support and empower each other.
